Learning production concepts (OT) – Tools for the management of networked activity
The OT research project aims at developing learning production
concepts to support continuous development in networked manufacturing
Production concepts are based on tools embedded in everyday
practices. This kind of tools may support e.g. identification
of expertise of partners, gradual building of shared objects
of activities, and innovative, experimental activity.
In the OT project, these tools are developed in case companies’ own
development projects. Results of the project include a new kind of model and
tools for developing production concepts. These development tools will be
published in a guidebook for learning production concepts in April 2012.
The guidebook supports organizations in identifying and solving challenges of networked activities.
The OT project is a collaborative effort of Aalto University School of Science,
University of Helsinki and Lappeenranta University of Technology.
Researchers of the OT project collaborate also with researchers from
Tallinn University of Technology. The project is carried out during 2009-2012 and it
is funded by Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation)
Concepts of Operations programme and the case companies.
